This study discusses oral literature in Aro Suka and South Solok Regencies, West Sumatra, which are part of the Minangkabau cultural tradition. Oral literature such as legends, randai, indang, salawat dulang, lukah gilo, and others are analyzed to identify the cultural, moral, and social values contained therein. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through direct observation and interviews to understand the storytelling environment, inheritance techniques, and the role of oral literature in people's lives. The results of the study indicate that oral literature in this area not only functions as entertainment, but also as a medium of education, strengthening cultural identity, and conveying moral messages. Traditional arts such as randai and indang reflect the relationship between Minangkabau customary values and cultural sustainability. However, modernization brings challenges to the preservation of this tradition, so joint efforts are needed from the community and government to preserve it.
